Unlocking Your Unit
With a DaVinci Lock

Welcome to Make Space Storage! Many of our locations now feature the DaVinci Lock system, allowing you to access your unit for the first time, without the need to talk to our facility managers. In the steps below we’ll walk you through how to get your DaVinci lock code and access your unit.
Green & Blue Locks: Unlocking your new rental.
If you’re a new customer trying to unlock your unit for the first time, you’ll want to follow the steps below to remove the ‘blue’ or ‘green’ DaVinci lock from your new rental.

On the day of your move-in you’ll receive both an email and text message from DaVinci Locks (davincilocks.com). These messages will provide you with the 4 digit code to unlock your unit along with the lock's serial number.

After arriving at the facility, you’ll just need to locate your unit and from there confirm the serial number from your email matches the lock on your unit. If so, simply enter the 4 digit code and unlock it.

After you’ve removed the DaVinci lock from your unit you’ll then want to replace it with your own lock to ensure your unit is secured and only accessible by you.

Finally, the last step you’ll need to complete is to return your lock to one of the drop boxes placed around the facility. Please note that not returning your lock will result in an additional fee.
Red Locks: Unlocking a past due rental.
If your account has been marked as past due, you may have had a ‘Red’ DaVinci lock placed on your unit to ‘Overlock’ it. If this is the case, you’ll want to follow the below steps to remove the Red lock from your unit.

In order to remove the extra lock on your unit, you’ll first need to resolve any unpaid balances on your account. To do so either make a payment online or call the facility to process it over the phone.

Once you’ve made a payment, you’ll then want to confirm that there is no balance remaining with the facility manager or customer service team. This can be done in-person, over the phone, or through our online web chat.

Now that your account balance has been cleared you’ll then receive the unlock combination to the ‘Red Lock’ on your unit. This will be provided to you via text/email/or by the facility manager.

Next, simply return to your unit at the facility and enter the 4 digit combination to remove the extra lock from your unit.

Finally, the last step you’ll need to complete is to return your lock to one of the drop boxes placed around the facility. Please note that not returning your lock will result in an additional fee.
